ONE year into motherhood, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton has learned a thing or two about raising a kid.
The 39-year-old former co-host of The Real shared her biggest parenting tip with The U.S. Sun and admitted that it has changed the way she uses her phone.
Adrienne welcomed her 13-month-old son, Ever James, with her husband, Israel Houghton, in August 2022.
The Cheetah Girls star had been open about her fertility struggles, having undergone eight rounds of IVF and endured multiple miscarriages.
She used her last remaining embryo with a surrogate and was thrilled to have a baby boy last year.
Now, she told The U.S. Sun, there’s one piece of advice she has for parents above all else.

“I think one of the biggest tips I would say is just to be present,” she said at the Rookie USA Fashion Show in New York City on September 6.
“We live in a culture where we’re always on our phones and I think that gets a little tough when you become a parent.
“So I literally don’t care about my phone.
“I used to be addicted to it. Now I literally can’t ever find it and I’m just present with my child.”

Adrienne admitted she does take lots of photos, “but I’m not replying to your text.”
“A happy mom makes a happy baby,” Adrienne, whose husband also has six children from previous relationships, continued.
“I think being able to take time for yourself [is important] as well.
“‘It takes a village’ is the realest thing I’ve ever heard about raising a child, but I’m so grateful that I get to have the honor and the privilege of being a mother.
“My sister has been the best and she has taught me also.”
As for juggling being a working mom, the star said she’s been taking her son to work with her and is happy Israel is so involved.
“Having a husband who’s also super hands-on and really supportive has been really helpful,” she said.
Now, Adrienne is thinking about baby number two — but she’s also just cherishing the time she has with Ever.

“It’s so weird. I thought I would want like four, but it took me six years to have my one and I never want to seem like, ‘OK, I got one. I’m on to the next.’
“I think I’m really just cherishing these moments with him, but I would love to have more still.”
