Founded in Duck, North Carolina, the franchise saw 22 more new stores open across the country as well as in three new countries worldwide in 2023 alone.

Currently, the chain has around 137 stores throughout the US across 29 states and Puerto Rico.

Duck Donuts first opened in 2007 and began stretching its reach worldwide in 2021.

At the time, the franchise opened its first international location in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Since then, Duck Donuts fans have seen stores pop up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Qatar; Cairo, Egypt; and Bangkok, Thailand.

As the franchise continues to launch stores in other countries, Duck Donuts is also looking to “incorporate local flavors,” Hamm said.

“Exclusive to the Doha community, guests can now indulge in an aromatic Matcha Latte – a refreshing fusion of traditional Japanese matcha and smooth steamed milk,” the CEO explained.

“For those seeking a touch of European flair, the Spanish Latte presents a blend of rich espresso and velvety condensed milk. In Puerto Rico, we serve a guava queso donut that has proved very popular.”

Duck Donuts customers in Thailand can also expect to see local ingredients join the menu soon via items like Thai tea, matcha, pink milk, mango and salted egg, according to World Coffee Portal.

Before the end of 2023, Duck Donuts plans to further expand its wingspan internationally, opening locations in Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire and St. Marteen

The franchise also plans to open a second location in Edmonton, Alberta.

Reaching even further, the company also already has its sights set on other potential locations in large cities like Sydney, Australia

No matter where fans of the iconic coffee and donuts are in the world, Hamm emphasized they will be satisfied with the quality of their goods.

“Consistency is a core value at Duck Donuts,” Hamm said.

“Whether you visit one of original locations in the Outer Banks of North Carolina or fly halfway around the world to visit our store in Cairo, Egypt, we want to guarantee our guests will enjoy the same warm, delicious, made-to-order donuts they have enjoyed elsewhere.”
