Cristiano Ronaldo ‘torn between shock Newcastle and Al-Nassr free transfers’ after Man Utd contract terminated

CRISTIANO RONALDO is torn between a move to Newcastle and Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr FC, according to reports.

The 37-year-old is now a free agent after his contract was terminated by Manchester United.

This came less than two weeks after Ronaldo slammed the club for not progressing since Fergie left and said he doesn’t respect Erik ten Hag in his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo also said the club did not believe him regarding his baby daughter’s health in the summer.

As a result of his comments, United ended the legend’s contract six months early.

Ronaldo, who’s preparing for his record-equalling fifth World Cup with Portugal, is therefore looking for a new club.

And according to Spanish outlet Marca, he’s weighing up the possibility of signing for Newcastle and Al-Nassr, who play in the Pro League.

Ronaldo revealed in his interview that he previously turned down an incredible £3m-a-week offer to play in Saudi Arabia in the summer.

But the report claims he’s now considering either staying in the Prem and joining the revolution in the North East or moving to the Middle East.

Back in October though, Eddie Howe claimed that he doesn’t want to sign ageing players, which makes a switch to St James’ Park unlikely.

He said: “We have quite an ageing squad, so we need to invest in more young players.

“That’s a big part of our progression — we need to get the average age down.”

Betfair have made Ronaldo’s boyhood club Sporting Lisbon the favourites to sign him in January, while Chelsea, an MLS side, Bayern Munich and PSG are also in the running for his signature.
