GARY NEVILLE has led the celebrations for Salford City, who have made the League Two playoffs.
But the Ammies were made to sweat, after they were beaten 1-0 at home to Gillingham on Monday.
Goal difference proved to be the decisive factor – with both Salford and Mansfield Town finishing their campaign on 75 points.
The Stags managed a 2-0 win away at Colchester – which put their goal difference up to +17.
Astonishingly, Salford ended their campaign with a +18 goal difference.
However, if Salford had conceded another and the goal differences were level, it would have been Mansfield who made the playoffs instead on goals for.
Like many of their fans, Neville was relieved after the final whistle.
And the Sky Sports host took to Twitter to share his happiness at the club’s achievement.
He wrote: “I did not enjoy that @SalfordCityFC! 😧! Well done lads over the season and to all the other teams! 👍🏻🙏”
