The Golden Bachelor producers have spoken about who they may want to lead the first-ever season of The Golden Bachelorette.
While no official leading lady has been announced yet, ABC has actress Susan Lucci, 77, at the top of its bill.
The soap opera star is best known for her role as Erica Kane on All My Children.
Susan’s past struggles directly correlate to those of Gerry’s, making her a solid candidate for finding love again in her “golden” years.

They added, “Her personal journey is a compelling storyline that will resonate with audiences, making the widow’s quest for love heart-warming to watch.”
“Who doesn’t want to see Susan find love again?” the insider noted.
The actress lost her chef husband Helmut Huber in March 2022 after 53 years together.
They also welcomed two children together, Liza and Andreas Huber.

ROOTING FOR LESLIE
Casting Susan would come as a shock to many in Bachelor Nation, as typically a contestant from the season prior is chosen to lead the following.
And, with fans falling in love with many of the women from Gerry’s season, many have given their opinions on who they want to see as the first-ever Golden Bachelorette.
It was reported in December, roughly one month after Gerry’s season had wrapped up, that ABC executives had begun searching for elderly male contestants for the next season.
Production for the Golden Bachelorette is set to begin “in the summer of 2024,” according to the casting website.
Fans were vocal about wanting Gerry’s runner-up, Leslie Fhima, 65, to take on the role.
The two tied the knot in early January, where Leslie was seen supporting the couple at their televised Golden Wedding event.
After it wasn’t announced that Leslie would be the next lead at the wedding, fans showed disappointment.
Taking to Reddit, one person wrote, “I really thought they were going to announce Leslie as the Golden Bachelorette last night! When will we get news on that? How long will we have to wait? so disappointing.”

A second added, “I was so upset! i was hoping for a leslie moment.”
