A MAN was viciously attacked by a rabid wild animal as he fed the ducks next to his home.
Joseph Scaglione was feeding the birds at the gate of his Jupiter, Florida home on September 23 when he was savaged by an otter.
As Joseph approached the pond, the ducks all suddenly flew away, WPBF reported.
“Looked up, no hawk, look back down, and there was a brown head sticking up over the bank of the pond,” Joseph said.
“And at first, I didn’t know it was an otter, but then I realized that’s an otter.”
The beast set on Joseph as he scrambled to close the gate, sinking its teeth into him 41 times on his legs and arms.

He continued: “My pinky is the worst. I have two puncture wounds.
“I’m not sure if it goes right through or whatever.”
Joseph was able to wrestle free from the animal and tend to his wounds, but not before the rabid otter targeted its second and third victims – attacking a couple walking with their baby and dog.
The otter was eventually captured and contained in a recycling bin, it was reported.
