ITALY favourite Claudio Marchisio has mocked a petition to get the Euro 2020 final replayed – as the Azzurri would win it ‘1,000 times’.

England lost to Roberto Mancini’s men in the Wembley showpiece earlier this month, after a 1-1 draw and penalty shootout.

One outraged Three Lions fans set up a petition on Change.org to have the final replayed with an ‘unbiased referee’.

But Marchisio, 35, welcomed the prospect so that his country can taste success many more times against Gareth Southgate’s team.

He tweeted: “Sorry but where is the petition signed to have the Italy-England final replayed?

“We can win it another thousand times 💪👊.”

NEMESIS

Marchisio has history against England, scoring one of his five international goals with a long-range hit against them in a 2-1 win at the 2014 World Cup.

The Three Lions have still never beaten the Azzurri at a major tournament after suffering the shootout heartbreak.

The petition launched after the defeat reached notoriety quickly and is, at the time of writing, on the cusp of its target of 150,000 signatures.

However, it has become something of a target for jokes after claiming England were cheated by referee Bjorn Kuipers.

With a picture of Giorgio Chiellini’s foul on Bukayo Saka, it claims: “The match on 11/07/2021 was not fair at all.

COMPETITION: SPOT THE BALL TO WIN A CAR AND CASH

“After Italy only receiving a yellow card for dragging England players like they were slaves [sic].

“All the pushes, pulls and kicks and Italy was still allowed to win? Definitely biased.

“Italy should have been given a red card for their gameplay and the rematch should happen with a non biased referee. This was not fair at all.”
