BEING in the royal family can come with some great perks – particularly when it comes to your birthday.
This is certainly true of Prince George who once received a birthday “card” worth a staggering £120,000.
In honour of the young prince’s first birthday celebrations, aviation company Hangar8 repainted a private Bombardier Challenger jet with a special greeting.
It was covered with the message “Happy BirthdayGeorge”, and it reportedly cost a six-figure sum to achieve, making it one of the most expensive ‘cards’ ever.
But sadly Prince George was not able to see the plane in person – let alone take a ride in it.
Marketing director Janus Kamradt told the Oxford Mail: “It was great fun, we’re really proud of the design.
“Four painters spent a month on it and they worked really, really hard.
“We’re unable to fly it to Prince George at Kensington Palace, so we sent him a picture of his biggest birthday card.”
Sadly the plane’s birthday greeting was short-lived, as it was repainted following the royal’s birthday.
It’s the thought that counts!

Future career inspiration?
Janus added that he hoped the jet gesture may inspire Prince George to pursue a flying career when he is older.
The Hangar8 staff member added: “I think he’s a little too young to be into aviation just yet, but who knows? Maybe one day he’ll be a pilot like his father and grandfather and remember us here.”
The Princess oftold Lucy Conder: “He [George] is now obsessed with the air cadets and wants to join.
“We are going to have to push that one when he gets to age 12.”
Prince George could follow in the footsteps of the Prince of Wales, who trained as a search and rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force in 2009.
The young royal has been gifted a large range of rather lavish presents over the course of his 10 years.
He was just eight-months-old when Pope Francis offered him a present he would unlikely be allowed to play with – an orb of Lapis Lazuli topped with a cross of St Edward the Confessor.
