Texas woman accused of stabbing husband and driving herself and kids into a retention pond

A Texas woman was arrested Friday after, police claim, she stabbed her husband and drove herself and her three children into a retention pond in a nearby town.

Wei Fen Ong was arrested Friday and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon resulting in serious bodily injury and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the Carrollton Police Department posted on X.

Ms. Ong’s husband, unnamed by authorities, put in a call at around 7:48 a.m. local time Friday claiming Ms. Ong had stabbed him. Carrollton police said that he is now in a local hospital and expected to survive.

Carrollton police also allege Ms. Ong drove herself along with the couple’s three children, ages 8, 9 and 12, to Lewisville, Texas about 15 minutes away, before then driving the car into a body of water.

While police originally wrote that it was a lake, officials confirmed to the Dallas Morning News that it was a retention pond.

All four occupants of the car were rescued. Two of the children are in stable condition, while the third remains hospitalized in critical condition. Police did not specify which of the three children remains in critical condition.
