Who is Michael Huntley?

Hailing from Fredericksburg, Virginia, Michael Huntley, who goes by the stage name Huntley, is an American singer and songwriter.

“I would say I’m singer-songwriter country, definitely southern blues rock ’n’ roll. All my favorite types of music -— a little bit of Joe Cocker, a little bit of John Mayer, a little bit of Bob Marley,” he said of his musical style.

He’s also a booking agent and a career musician playing gigs full-time across Virginia.

Huntley has been singing since he was a kid, impersonating Elvis Presley for his friends and family.

It wasn’t until he was much older that he decided to take music seriously, and at one point, he moved to Nashville to try and make it big.

Before joining The Voice, he tried his luck in various singing competitions, including American Idol, in which he earned a golden ticket.

Huntley was also a part of a band named Lucys Letdown, but he has since launched a solo music career.

He released his debut single, Holdin’ On, in April 2022.

When did Huntley audition for The Voice?

Huntley auditioned for the 24th season of The Voice.

He performed the song She Talks to Angels by The Black Crowes.

All four of the coaches, Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and John Legend, turned their chairs for him, nearly all at the same time.

“Your voice is incredible. When I first listened to you, I heard Chris Stapleton in there… That’s a huge compliment to you there. So everything about your voice I absolutely loved, ” McEntire gushed.

“So much power, and the control you have, it’s so beautiful to listen to,” Horan praised. “You made us feel, and that’s a really important thing.”

Stefani chimed in, saying, “Your voice is just so automatic. You know exactly at what point you’re going to be raspy. And it’s pure and honest and you sound like you’ve been singing forever, on stage performing.”

Meanwhile, Legend said, “Your voice sounds so ready. So ready for the world, so ready for the radio… Truly one of the best voices we’ve heard. It’s so impressive, dude.”

Ultimately, Huntley decided to invite his six-year-old daughter, Stella, on stage to help him choose a coach.

She ended up picking One Direction member Niall, who she admitted was her “crush.”

“Niall’s been a thorn in my side all season,” Legend quipped, “and I have no chance against him with these girls.”
